A pregnant woman, Taiwo Sholagbemi, and an alleged accomplice, Ibrahim Mohammed, popularly known as “Dongo,” have been arrested by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, over a suspected attempted house break-in at Crown Estate, Ajibode, Ogun State.

The State Commander of the corps, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi.

According to the statement, the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on September 7, 2026, when the Area Commander of the Tigbo/Ijako/Isorosi Area Command, ACC Nureni Alimi, received a distress call from residents of Crown Estate, Ajibode, that a pregnant woman had allegedly been caught inside a resident’s house before fleeing the scene.

Alimi was said to have mobilised officers to commence an immediate search for the suspect. The officers reportedly joined forces with members of the community and searched surrounding areas until the woman was sighted in her hiding place.

The statement said the suspect attempted to escape upon sighting the search team but was overpowered and arrested.

During preliminary interrogation, Sholagbemi allegedly confessed to being an informant for two men from the northern part of the country.

She reportedly told investigators that she met Mohammed, whom she identified as “Dongo,” at the Joju axis after she had become pregnant and was begging for alms at Sango. According to her account, Mohammed offered to assist her financially on the condition that she worked as an informant ahead of planned operations.

Sholagbemi allegedly explained that the group would identify a house and gather information about it before she was taken to the location. She claimed that she was provided with more than 200 master keys to try if the location of the house key had changed or the information supplied was inaccurate.

She further alleged that a motorcycle rider would convey her from Joju, where members of the group usually converged, to the target location.

According to the statement, Sholagbemi claimed that on the day of the incident, she found the key at the exact location she had been informed about. She said she was leaving the apartment when the owner of the house saw and accosted her.

She allegedly escaped after the house owner questioned her about how she gained access to the property. The owner was said to have locked her inside the house before she found another exit and raised the alarm.

The So-Safe Corps subsequently used Sholagbemi as bait in an operation to apprehend Mohammed, with undercover operatives laying an ambush for him at Joju, where he was eventually arrested.

However, Mohammed denied the allegations during interrogation. He reportedly denied giving any keys to Sholagbemi or instructing her to break into the house.

He claimed that he was involved in the buying and selling of scrap materials and only knew Sholagbemi after she allegedly sold a generator to him about a month ago. He said he bought the generator for ₦41,000.

The corps said a third suspect remained at large as of the time of the statement.

Sholagbemi and Mohammed have since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Sango Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Ganzallo assured members of the public that the investigation would be conducted thoroughly and in accordance with the law, adding that appropriate action would be taken based on its outcome.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities to security agencies to prevent criminal activities and safeguard lives and property in their communities.
