The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 50-year-old man, Kazeem Adeoye, over an alleged assault on a 44-year-old woman, Oladeyinde Morufat, and her daughter in Ifo Local Government Area of the state.
The suspect was subsequently handed over to the Ifo Area Command of the Nigeria Police Force for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The development was disclosed in a statement by the State Commander of the corps, Soji Ganzallo, and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
According to the statement, the incident was reported on Sunday, October 11, 2026, at about 4:45 pm at the Olayemi/Demokula Divisional Headquarters of the corps.
The complainant reportedly told the authorities that she was returning from church with her children when an argument broke out between them and the suspect’s sons, Abdullah and Ope, who were riding a motorcycle.
She alleged that Adeoye subsequently entered her compound without permission and began verbally abusing members of her family.
The statement added that the suspect’s wife allegedly hit Morufat on the head with a wooden stick during the ensuing confrontation, causing her to bleed.
The complainant also reported that her daughter, Mariam, sustained a visible cut on her forehead, which she attributed to an alleged physical assault by the suspect.
Following the report, the Divisional Officer, Innocent Matthew, reportedly deployed two officers to apprehend Adeoye for investigation.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted entering the complainant’s compound but claimed that his children had informed him that the complainant’s children were deliberately obstructing their path while riding a bicycle.
Adeoye reportedly said he went to the compound to warn the family, but the encounter escalated into a physical altercation.
The statement added that the suspect admitted that both the woman and her daughter sustained injuries during the incident.
The Divisional Officer subsequently directed that the victims be taken to the Government Health Centre in Lisa for medical evaluation and treatment.
The suspect was detained pending further investigation and the receipt of the medical report.
The corps said the case file and the suspect were transferred to the Ifo Area Command on Monday, October 12, following preliminary investigations.
Ganzallo urged members of the public to resolve disagreements peacefully and report incidents of violence promptly to the appropriate authorities.
He also stressed the need to protect children and ensure that allegations of violence were thoroughly investigated by the relevant authorities.
