The Ogun State Government has completed asphalt laying and compaction on a 535-metre stretch of Okenla Road in Ijebu-Ode as construction work continues on the road project.
The project, being executed under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, has progressed through surface preparation, prime coat application, asphalt laying and compaction, according to information released by the state government.
The reconstruction is expected to improve access within the community, ease vehicular movement and enhance road safety for motorists and other road users.
Residents, traders and commuters in the area are also expected to benefit from improved connectivity, which could facilitate the movement of goods and services and support commercial activities.
The Okenla Road project forms part of the Abiodun administration’s ongoing road infrastructure programme, which includes the construction and rehabilitation of roads across different parts of the state.
The state government has maintained that investments in road infrastructure are intended to improve connectivity, support economic activities and enhance the living conditions of residents.
However, the government is yet to provide a completion date for the entire Okenla Road project or details of the remaining construction work.
