The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency (TRACE) has announced the commencement of a 10-day round-the-clock Special Operation Schedule to ensure effective traffic management and emergency response services across the state during the Eid-al-Adha celebrations.
According to a release issued on Wednesday, from the office of the TRACE Commander and Chief Executive, Commander ‘Seni Ogunyemi, the exercise will run from Wednesday, June 4 to Friday, June 13, 2025, covering 18 major traffic corridors in Ogun State.
“The special patrol operation will monitor motorists, both high and low-capacity vehicles, for the safety of lives and property,” the statement read.
Commander Ogunyemi emphasized that all 18 major corridors, including Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode-Benin/Ore Expressway, Sango-Ota-Atan-Owode-Idiroko Highway, Agbara-Badagry axis, Abeokuta-Ewekoro-Ifo-Sango-Ota, and Rounder-Ayetoro-Imeko-Ilara Border route, will witness increased TRACE presence.
In line with this initiative, TRACE is working in collaboration with other safety and security agencies, leveraging its Traffic Whistle Blower Initiative, Emergency Traffic Services, and Community-Based Traffic Management Scheme (TRACE Mayors) to enhance effectiveness.

“We count on the cooperation of all motorists and road users to make this festive season safe,” Ogunyemi said.
Field Commanders have been directed to ensure that TRACE operatives on duty maintain a professional, civil, fair, and firm posture in discharging their duties.
While congratulating Muslims on the occasion of Eid-al-Adha, the TRACE boss urged them to avoid drunk driving, overspeeding, and other traffic offences.
“I advise all road users to plan their journeys, obey all traffic rules, and above all, avoid reckless behaviours on the road,” he warned.
Ogunyemi stressed that any vehicle apprehended for traffic violations during the Sallah celebrations will not be released until Monday, June 16, 2025, after the conclusion of the special operation.
