According to the statement, the council approved Badewa’s appointment after reviewing the process through which he emerged as the new traditional ruler of Ikeji Ile.

The approval was part of a series of decisions by the council concerning traditional institutions across the state, including the confirmation of other traditional rulers and the elevation of chiefs.

Other appointments approved by the council include Chief Adedoyin Muritala Adewale as the Akogun of Ife in Ife East Local Government Area and Prince Babajide Oludare as the Olupasi of Ipasi-Ijesa in Obokun Local Government Area.

The state government said all the approved appointments and related decisions would take immediate effect.

Badewa, who is also the Chairman of Vicinity Media Limited, is expected to assume his role as the Akeji of Ikeji Ile following the government’s approval of his appointment.
