The Osun State Executive Council has approved the appointment of Prince Timileyin Oluyemi Ajayi, a United Kingdom-based IT engineer, as the new Olojudo of Ido Ajegunle in Obokun Local Government Area.

The approval was granted during the council meeting presided over by Governor Ademola Adeleke.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, confirmed the approvals, stating, “The Osun State Executive Council has carefully considered these chieftaincy matters and has taken decisions in line with the law and traditional heritage of the state.”

At the meeting, the council also approved the White Paper on the Report of a Judicial Panel of Inquiry into the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Chieftaincy Declaration.

Prince Ajayi, who studied Office and Information Management at Lead City University, Ibadan, before relocating abroad, is an entrepreneur with investments in the hospitality and agricultural industries. His appointment marks a new chapter for the Ido Ajegunle community.

Other traditional rulers approved by the council include Prince Emmanuel Adesokan Ayoola, who has been named the Oluwaro of Iwaro in Ife North Local Government, and Prince Kazeem Deji Ogungbe, who is now the Oniwata of Iwata in Irewole Local Government.

In addition to the appointments, the state government also elevated several traditional chiefs to Part Two status under the Chief’s Law, Cap.25, Laws of Osun State, 2002. The elevated chiefs include the Baale Owajigbo of Ejigbo-Orangun, Baale Owamagbon of Ila, Baale Owafaye of Obalogbo-Ila, Baale Osi Okero-Ife, Baale Mayowa Ifegunle-Ife, Olu of Apatalami-Ife, Baale Ayede Temidire Town, and Baale Akingbade of Ayetutu Ipoye-Ife.

Others elevated are the Looyin of Olodo Okebode-Ijesa, Ologbese of Ogbese (Atakunmosa West), Alaye Daramola-Ijesa (Atakunmosa East), Baale of Ajitena (Ejigbo Traditional Council), and Olaota of Osunwoyin (Ayedire Local Government). Their recognition under Part Two status formalizes their positions within the state’s traditional leadership structure.
