Former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Major General Christopher Jemitola, has passed away after collapsing at the IBB Golf Course in Asokoro, Abuja, on Thursday.
According to family sources, Jemitola was swiftly rushed to the hospital following the incident but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The late General had an illustrious military career, having served in various key positions, including Corps Commander of the Nigerian Army Signals, Nigeria’s Defence Adviser to Brazil, and Director of Army Public Relations.
Born in Ososo, Akoko Edo Local Government Area of Edo State, Jemitola was Obasanjo’s ADC from 2003 to 2007 while holding the rank of Colonel.
He later rose through the ranks to become the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) in the Nigerian Army before his demise.
As of press time, the Nigerian Army has yet to release an official statement regarding his passing.
