The Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has approved the nomination of Oba Rashidi Ladoja as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland, paving the way for his coronation next month.
The coronation ceremony has been scheduled for Friday, September 26, 2025, at the historic Mapo Hall in Ibadan, the state capital.
Sources confirmed that a state delegation on Wednesday met with Ladoja and members of the Olubadan-in-Council at his Bodija residence to conclude arrangements.
Speaking on the development, the media aide to the Olubadan-designate, Adeola Oloko, confirmed that the approval had been given by Governor Makinde and preparations were already underway.
“Oba Ladoja will be enthroned as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland on Friday, September 26, 2025, and the ceremony will hold at the ancient Mapo Hall,” Oloko said.
It would be recalled that Ladoja had earlier met with the kingmakers at his residence on Tuesday, a crucial step in finalizing his ascension to the throne.
