The Lisabi Grammar School Old Students’ Association (LIGSOSA) has inaugurated its new set of global executives, with Engr. Kayode Adeniji FNSE, emerging as Global President.

The investiture, held on Saturday, took place within the school premises in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and witnessed the swearing-in of ten other officers who will serve alongside him for a two-year tenure.

The newly inaugurated executives are Comrade Chief Kayode Falola (1st Vice President), Dr. Barrister Kayode Akinsola (2nd Vice President), Comrade Mrs. Tolulope Faneye (Global General Secretary), Comrade Sunday Ogundeyi (Assistant Secretary), and Comrade Adeola Adeyemi (Publicity Secretary).

Others include Comrade Oluwatosin Olaore (Treasurer), Comrade Abiodun Rofiat Oyeneye (Welfare Secretary), Comrade Oluwaseun Olaokun (Auditor), and Comrade Mrs. Temitope Taiwo (Financial Secretary).

In his acceptance remarks, the Global President, Engr. Kayode Adeniji, expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him and assured members of accountable leadership.

“I am deeply humbled by the trust you have placed in me. I pledge to lead with a spirit of unity, inclusivity, and transparency. Together with my executives, we will ensure that every Lisabian has a voice and a role in shaping the future of our association,” he said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to inclusivity, stressing that collective strength would drive the association’s success. “No one will be left behind. Our strength lies in our unity, and we must work hand in hand to achieve the greatness we all desire for LIGSOSA,” Adeniji added.

The president also spoke on the importance of supporting younger Lisabians. “We will stand as pillars for our current students, providing mentorship, guidance, and resources to ensure they thrive academically and personally. They are the torchbearers of tomorrow, and we must empower them to do better than us.”

On accountability, he reassured members of transparency in all dealings. “Every action we take will be open and every financial record available for scrutiny. Accountability is not just a principle for us—it is the backbone of trust,” he emphasized.

The outgoing Global President, Alhaji Taofik Ogunremi Lawal FCA, who served between 2021 and 2025, bowed out after what many described as an impactful tenure. In his farewell remarks, Lawal expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah and the Old Students’ community for the privilege to serve.

“As the first Science Student to lead LIGSOSA, I thank all my Global Executive Council members for the cooperation that led to the successful implementation of our plans, projects, and programs,” he said.

Lawal listed some of his administration’s achievements, including the establishment of a functional association office, completion of the Chief Bode Akindele Hostels for Boys and Girls, and the re-establishment of a clinic within the school. He also noted that over forty Sets now actively identify with the Association, compared to fewer before his tenure.

“I promised mobilization, and today more than forty Sets are actively part of the Association. I promised a functional office, and today it stands completed. I promised progress on our hostel and clinic projects, and by God’s grace, they have been delivered. These were not just promises; they were commitments we kept together,” Lawal declared.

Reflecting on leadership challenges, he added: “Just as in my school days when my Set was found blameless by the Sogbetun Tribunal, so also during my second tenure, the Omotosho Fact-Finding Committee cleared our administration of all allegations. May the Almighty crown all our efforts with success.”

He urged the new executives to build on the foundation laid. “It is expected that the incoming Executives will grow the Association further. I wish them success as they continue to make Lisabi Grammar School proud,” he said.

Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Elijah Ola Adediwura FCA, charged the new executives to uphold values of integrity and service. “The new administration must set a standard of excellence. I urge you to establish oversight committees, engage professionals where necessary, and ensure that financial transparency becomes a hallmark of this tenure,” he advised.

The event, attended by alumni and well-wishers, was described as a defining moment for LIGSOSA. Members expressed optimism that the new executives would sustain the legacy of excellence that Lisabi Grammar School, Abeokuta, has been known for over the years.
