As schools resume for a new academic session, Hon. Olumide Jones, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has supported pupils across Ewekoro and Ifo Federal Constituency with a large-scale distribution of back-to-school materials.
During the exercise, pupils received school bags, exercise books, school shoes, and other essential writing items.
The initiative, according to Jones, is aimed at improving learning conditions and reducing the financial burden on parents and guardians at this crucial time of resumption.
While addressing the gathering, Hon. Jones reaffirmed his commitment to prioritising education, describing it as the bedrock of development.
“Education remains the foundation for development and prosperity,” he said.
He further pledged to continue investing in programmes that would encourage enrolment, support academic excellence, and inspire the younger generation to achieve their full potential.
Parents, teachers, and community leaders who attended the event expressed gratitude. They described the gesture as timely and impactful. One of the parents said the distribution was a relief for families who were struggling to meet back-to-school expenses.
They commended Hon. Jones for what they termed his “people-focused representation and dedication to the welfare of children in the constituency.”
The distribution, Jones noted, is part of several people-oriented programmes under his legislative agenda, which gives priority to education, empowerment, and sustainable development in Ewekoro and Ifo Federal Constituency.
