Idanre, Ondo State, is set to host an array of dignitaries on Saturday, February 15, as the final rites for the late High Chief Moses Akinmade, the Obamoluwa of Idanre Kingdom, take place.

Leading the list of prominent attendees are Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, and Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, alongside former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko.

Other key figures expected include members of the National Assembly, former Lagos State Military Administrator and Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa, Senate Majority Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, Senator Ali Ndume, and Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa.

The ceremony will also attract members of the Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE), Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Club 66 Idanre, and Idanre Development Assembly (IDA), among others.

The late High Chief Akinmade, a respected community leader, renowned cocoa merchant, and socialite, was the father of Hon. Kayode Akinmade, Special Adviser on Media and Strategy to the Ogun State Governor. He passed away on August 5, 2024, at the age of 98.

According to the family, the burial ceremonies will span two days, starting on Friday, February 14, 2025, with a wake-keep at No. 30, Odolemo Street, Isalu Quarters, Odode Idanre. The funeral service will follow on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Idanre.

After the church service, High Chief Akinmade will be laid to rest at his residence, while guests will be entertained at Olofin Grammar School, Odode, Idanre.
