The 2025 World Orphans Day celebration in Abuja took a memorable turn as the Chadash Empowerment Foundation donated a brand new Toyota Sienna Bus, food items and cash gifts to ten orphanage homes in a gesture aimed at spreading hope and easing the burden of care.
The event, held at 3GS Kiddies and Event Center in Lugbe, brought together hundreds of children, caregivers, partners and supporters under the theme Spreading Hope. The atmosphere was warm as children sang, danced and received gifts.
In her remarks, the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Chadash Empowerment Foundation, Mrs Temitope Adeola, said the theme of this year’s celebration carries a strong message that reminds society to rethink its duty to orphans.
According to her, it calls on everyone to pause, reflect and recommit themselves to the millions of children who have lost the warmth of a parent’s embrace, the security of family and sometimes even the chance to dream.
Mrs Adeola, wife of Senator Solomon Adeola, stated that hope must be a collective responsibility shared by government, the private sector, NGOs and individuals.
She explained that hope is not just an emotion but a force that shapes identity, fuels resilience and transforms the future of vulnerable children.
She added that her organization remains committed to creating an environment where orphans are protected, empowered and given the tools needed to survive.
She said her foundation has constructed and donated a standard two bedroom apartment to Maranatha Care Initiative and Children Home in Lugbe, sank a borehole to provide clean water for an orphanage and raised more than four hundred million naira for the ongoing construction of a world class orphanage and special needs school for JKS Orphanage Home in Kubwa, a legacy project she said will touch lives for generations.
Ten orphanages benefited from this year’s celebration. They include Purity Rose Care Orphanage Home, Christ Bethel Orphanage Home, Maranatha Orphanage Home, Amazing Tots Orphanage Home, Nado Orphanage Home, Goodluck Orphanage Home, Nwachi Memorial Orphanage Home, Gifted and Talented Orphanage Home, Shining Star Orphanage Home and Priesthood Orphanage Home.
The major highlight of the event was the Foundation’s donation of a brand new Toyota Sienna Bus to Christ Bethel Orphanage Home to support their transportation and logistics needs.
Each of the ten homes also received one hundred thousand naira and essential supplies including bags of rice, vegetable oil, sugar, tissue paper and goodie bags for every child in attendance.
