Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Wednesday in Abeokuta inaugurated newly appointed Permanent Secretaries, the Statistician General, Principals General, and Headteachers General, describing their elevation as a product of dedication, discipline, and proven competence in public service.
The inauguration ceremony, held in the state capital, marked another step in the administration’s drive to strengthen governance, improve institutional efficiency, and reposition the civil service for better service delivery.
Congratulating the appointees, Abiodun said their appointments were well deserved and came with higher expectations from government and the people of the state.
According to him, “your appointments reflect years of commitment, discipline, and proven competence in the public service. You have been entrusted with greater responsibility because you have shown capacity to serve, to lead, and to deliver.”
The governor noted that the inauguration was not only a personal milestone for the appointees but also a significant moment for the state.
He said the offices they now occupy play vital roles in policy implementation, human capital development, and the overall effectiveness of government institutions.
“This inauguration marks a new chapter not only in your personal journeys, but also in our collective efforts to strengthen governance and accelerate development in Ogun State,” Abiodun stated.
He urged the new Permanent Secretaries and education leaders to bring professionalism, innovation, and clarity into their duties, stressing that government expected tangible results that would positively impact residents across the state.
“We look to you to help translate our vision into tangible results for our people,” the governor said.
Abiodun further charged the appointees to uphold integrity, transparency, and accountability in the discharge of their responsibilities, noting that leadership in public office must be guided by service and excellence.
“We urge you to discharge your responsibilities with integrity, loyalty, and an unwavering sense of service. Let accountability, transparency, and excellence define your leadership,” he added.
The governor congratulated the officials once again and wished them successful tenures, praying that God would grant them wisdom, strength, and success as they serve Ogun State.
