Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has openly queried a contractor handling a hospital construction project in the state over what he described as misplaced priorities, after work reportedly began with the mortuary section instead of the main hospital facilities.
The governor’s reaction was captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media. The footage shows Eno expressing displeasure during an inspection visit to the project site, where he confronted the contractor over the sequence of construction.
Visibly displeased, the governor questioned the decision to commence work with the mortuary, stressing that such an approach did not reflect the purpose of the project. “Why did you start with the mortuary first?” Eno asked. “I said build a hospital, and you started with a mortuary. Don’t say that again,” he added, as some people at the site reacted with laughter.
