The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has cautioned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be wary of his relationship with the United States government, warning that the alliance may not end well for Nigeria if not properly managed.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric urged the president to avoid desperation in dealing with America, insisting that the foreign power may not have Nigeria’s best interest at heart.
“America isn’t your friend, don’t be desperate about them, they are not ready to work with you, that is the truth. Some people are destroying your work, and you have not identified them. They are only deceiving you,” he said.
Primate Ayodele further advised the president to be mindful of the agreements and promises entered into with the American government, warning that certain commitments could eventually have negative consequences for both the administration and the country.
Beyond the foreign policy concerns, the cleric also warned of internal dangers, urging the president to be cautious of individuals within his inner circle.
According to him, there is a need for heightened vigilance within the Presidential Villa to prevent unforeseen challenges.
“There is danger in the presidential villa. The president must be very careful of the people working closely with him. He needs to watch his steps carefully. I see danger ahead. I am warning as the spirit of God led me, this is not to scare anybody, but to caution the president,” he stated.
He also called on security agencies, including the military and intelligence services, to remain alert against any form of external aggression that may threaten the stability of the nation.
