Fresh FM 105.9, Ibadan, has resumed broadcasting days after a devastating fire gutted its headquarters at Challenge, Ibadan.
The radio station, owned by music icon Yinka Ayefele, was thrown into temporary silence on Friday, August 15, 2025, when fire razed parts of its head office.
The inferno destroyed the studios of Fresh 105.9 FM and Blast 98.3 FM, alongside the newsroom, transmitter/server room, and several pieces of broadcast equipment.
In a statement signed by Samson Akindele, Group Head of Corporate Affairs, Fresh FM Nigeria, the management had earlier described the incident as “sad and devastating,” noting that efforts by staff to control the flames before the arrival of fire service officials were unsuccessful due to the intensity of the inferno.
However, in a new update issued by the station, the management confirmed that normal broadcasting has now resumed.
The statement read: “After a challenging period due to the recent fire outbreak, we are thrilled to announce that we are back on air. Thanks to the incredible support from our team, emergency services, and you — our loyal audience, we have overcome this hurdle stronger than ever. Keep it Fresh!”
Fresh FM also expressed appreciation to residents, passersby, emergency responders, and its listeners for their swift intervention and unwavering support during the incident.
