The Katsina State Hisbah Board has ordered the closure of all nightclub activities across the state, citing the need to uphold Islamic values, morality, and public security.

Announcing the ban in a statement issued on Wednesday, Hisbah Commander-General, Dr. Aminu Usman (Abu Ammar), said the directive is part of efforts to curb immoral practices and ensure societal discipline.

“This decision is in line with our commitment to building a morally upright society and ensuring peace and security in Katsina State,” Usman stated.

He warned nightclub owners to comply immediately, stressing that violators would face strict penalties. He further disclosed that security agencies have been instructed to enforce the ban to ensure full compliance.

The Hisbah chief noted that the board had informed the Commissioner for Internal Security and other relevant agencies about the decision, adding that the move aligns with broader efforts to ensure that residents conduct their lives in accordance with religious and ethical standards.
