The Nigeria Police Force has announced a further extension of the enforcement deadline for the mandatory Tinted Glass Permit for vehicles.

The new deadline is now set for October 2, 2025, giving vehicle owners more time to comply with the regulation.

According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, approved the extension following a significant increase in permit applications through the official online portal.

The surge reflects growing public compliance, but authorities say more time is needed to carefully review each application.

The police force emphasized that the extension will allow for thorough verification to ensure permits are granted only to eligible applicants. This move aims to maintain national security while balancing convenience for citizens.

The official platform for applying remains https://possap.gov.ng, and the Nigeria Police Force warned the public to avoid unofficial channels to prevent fraud or exploitation.

Citizens are encouraged to report any cases of extortion or unauthorized processing to the police via the dedicated hotline: 08147818871.

The Nigeria Police Force thanked Nigerians for their cooperation and reiterated its commitment to secure and transparent permit issuance.
