The Ogun State House of Assembly Committee on Information, Culture and Tourism has applauded the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Ogun State Television (OGTV), and the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) for their consistent efforts in mobilizing and enlightening citizens on the policies and programmes of the present administration.

The commendation came during the ongoing 2025 mid-year budget performance appraisal, when the state’s media team, led by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Mr. Kayode Akinmade (represented by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Waheed Adesina), appeared before the lawmakers at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta.

Chairman of the Committee, Hon. Olusegun Kaka Odunuga, alongside other members, noted that the strategic communication and coordinated media efforts of the Ministry and its allied agencies have played a vital role in projecting government initiatives and fostering greater public awareness.

The Committee, while expressing satisfaction with the media agencies’ performance, urged them to intensify their outreach, embrace modern tools of communication, and reinforce internal capacity for sustained public engagement.

Responding on behalf of the media team, Mr. Akinmade reaffirmed the commitment of the Ministry and its affiliated agencies to continually adopt innovative communication strategies aimed at deepening civic participation and enhancing visibility for developmental initiatives.

Also speaking, the General Manager of OGTV, Mr. Tunde Kazeem, and his OGBC counterpart, Mrs. Toyin Sogbesan, highlighted some achievements of their respective stations. These include uninterrupted 24-hour broadcasting on multiple platforms such as DSTV, GOTV, StarTimes, and various social media channels.

They also pointed to ongoing infrastructure improvements such as the installation of solar-powered streetlights, acquisition of new laptops, networking upgrades, and digitization of operations as part of their drive to modernize broadcast services across the state.
