A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Nurudeen Alowonle, has commended the senator representing Ogun West at the National Assembly, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, for resuming the construction of the abandoned Simawa High Court Road in Sagamu Local Government Area.
Alowonle gave the commendation while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta at the weekend, describing the intervention as timely and significant for residents of Simawa in Ogun East Senatorial District.
He said the road, which serves as a major access route to the High Court and key markets in the community, was initially started but later abandoned after only about 10 metres had been completed.
“We are profoundly grateful to our Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola for heeding our calls. This road is a vital artery for our community, leading to a High Court and major markets. For years, we watched in dismay as the project was abandoned after just about 10 metres.
The contrast in commitment is clear, and we applaud the senator from Ogun West for his intervention in this road project situated in Ogun East, which is vital to the socioeconomic activities of our people,” Alowonle said.
Also speaking, a market leader in Simawa, Mrs. Bukola Adebayo, stressed the economic importance of the project, noting that the previous condition of the road had negatively affected traders and customers.
“As someone whose livelihood depends on moving goods and customers accessing the market, this road completion is an answered prayer. The previous poor state was a huge burden. We thank Governor Abiodun and Senator Adeola for this intervention. It shows they understand the needs of the common people and the importance of commerce in Simawa town,” she said.
