The Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) Chieftain, Honourable Olumide Jones, has rejoiced with the entire indigenes of Ogun State over the 50th anniversary celebration to mark the creation of the state,
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the media aide, ‘Yanju Uwala, he said it is necessary to celebrate the Golden Jubilee anniversary of the state, and for all indigenes to also appreciate Almighty God, to where he has taken since the state since the creation.
According to the statement, the anniversary marks five decades of Ogun State’s political existence, steady growth, and notable contributions to national development. Hon. Jones, also noted that the celebration provides an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far while renewing commitment to a more prosperous future.
“This is a time for everyone within the state to celebrate the remarkable event in the state, as we celebrate our 50th anniversary since its creation.
“I also rejoice with all indigenes of the state over this Golden Jubilee, as this is a period for everyone to appreciate Almighty God for his grace and mercy over the people, and for how long he has been moving with the state over the last five decades”, the statement reads.
Hon. Jones, also called on the residents to mark the historic milestone in an atmosphere of peace and unity, and also to be more focused as responsible citizens by being committed towards its development in every areas.
Meanwhile, Ogun State was created on February 3, 1976. The Golden Jubilee celebration features a rich line up of commemorative activities designed to reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and project a bold and prosperous future for the state.
