The Ogun State House of Assembly has expressed deep sympathy for the victims of a fatal road accident involving British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua, which occurred along the Lagos–Abeokuta Expressway at Makun junction, claiming the lives of two of his associates, including his cousin and a friend, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele.
The Assembly’s condolence followed presentations by the members representing Sagamu Two and One State Constituencies, Hon. Ademola Adeniran and Hon. Damilare Bello, who raised the matter under personal explanation during plenary.
A minute of silence was observed in honor of the deceased, while the House extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery for Joshua and other survivors of the accident.
The Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, also urged motorists to exercise caution on highways to prevent avoidable loss of lives.
He commended members of the Assembly for their unity and cooperation throughout the year and expressed appreciation to the management and staff of the House for their solidarity and support.
