Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has said the increasing recognition of Nigeria in international sporting engagements is a testament to Ogun’s commitment to sports development under the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Salako-Oyedele, who is part of the Nigerian Sports Commission’s delegation to the ongoing 6th Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, stated this while speaking with journalists at the event.
She expressed delight that the invitation extended to Ogun State was a reflection of the state’s growing impact on the national sports landscape.
According to her, the successful hosting of the National Sports Festival and other recent initiatives have positioned Ogun as a truly sports-loving and sports-driven state.

The Deputy Governor also expressed optimism that Nigerian athletes at the ongoing Games would make the country proud, adding that Team Nigeria would compete with passion, excellence and pride.
She said the Islamic Solidarity Games provide another golden opportunity for Team Nigeria to showcase their talent, discipline and excellence on the international stage, describing it as a proud moment for the athletes and the nation at large.
The 6th edition of the Islamic Solidarity Games brings together athletes from over 50 countries, celebrating unity and friendship through sports beyond religious and cultural boundaries.
