A fatal road crash claimed the life of one person and left two others injured in the early hours of Monday, May 12, 2025, at about 5:36 a.m., along the Tradefair–Agbara corridor, precisely at Iyana Era Bus Stop.

The multiple vehicle crash involved a blue Mack truck (registration number: AKD 579 XM) and a silver Lexus saloon car (registration number: LSR 545 JN). According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), a total of five adult males were involved in the incident.

Preliminary investigations by the FRSC revealed that speed violation (SPV) and loss of control (LOC) were the major causes of the crash, despite the road being in good condition.

“The collision was forceful and tragic,” an FRSC official confirmed. “One adult male was confirmed dead at the scene, while two others sustained varying degrees of injury.”

Emergency responders arrived within four minutes of receiving the report. The injured were quickly transported to Alimosho General Hospital for medical attention.

To prevent panic and manage the growing crowd at the accident site, the silver Lexus vehicle with the deceased still trapped inside was towed by an Ayab recovery truck to Ijanikin Police Station. The Mack truck was later removed from the road by the FRSC’s tow truck, restoring normal traffic flow.

Reacting to the incident, the FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, expressed sympathy to those affected.

“We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased and wish the injured a speedy recovery,” he said.
“This sad event is a reminder of the dangers of excessive speed and carelessness. We urge all motorists to drive within speed limits and remain in full control of their vehicles at all times.”

The FRSC reiterated its commitment to ensuring safer roads and urged drivers to always prioritize caution and responsibility while driving.
