Victor Osimhen has taken a major step toward a high-profile move away from Napoli as he has now agreed to personal terms with Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal. According to Goal.com, the Nigerian forward is set to earn a staggering $35 million to $40 million over the course of the contract once the transfer is completed.

The deal, however, is not yet sealed. While Al Hilal and Osimhen have reached an understanding on his wages, negotiations between the Saudi club and Napoli over the transfer fee are still ongoing. Al Hilal’s current best offer stands at €70 million (£59m/$80m), while Napoli are holding out for €75 million (£63m/$86m).

Despite the gap, talks are said to be progressing. A source close to the deal disclosed, “Al Hilal have made their intent clear and Osimhen is happy with the personal terms. It’s now down to the clubs to finalise the fee.”

Osimhen’s departure from Napoli has been a long time coming. His relationship with the Italian club reportedly deteriorated last summer, although he still signed a contract extension that keeps him at the club until 2026.

That contract, now approaching its final year, has reduced Napoli’s leverage in setting a hefty price tag for the 25-year-old striker.

Interestingly, Osimhen spent the 2024/2025 season on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray, where he enjoyed a sensational run, scoring 37 goals across all competitions, a performance that reignited attention from top clubs worldwide.

If the move is finalised quickly, Al Hilal could be able to register Osimhen in time for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. A mini transfer window for clubs participating in the tournament is scheduled to close on June 10.

“Time is of the essence,” a source close to Al Hilal’s management commented.

“We’re hopeful of wrapping things up before the Club World Cup window closes.”
