Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has expressed satisfaction over the success of his free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms initiative, which provided registration opportunities for over 4,200 indigent students across Ogun West Senatorial District.

Reacting to the project report submitted by the coordinating committee, the senator commended the team for surpassing expectations despite technical challenges and the early closure of the JAMB registration portal.

“I am delighted that we were able to assist over 4,200 students, even though our target was 5,000. This initiative is a crucial step toward ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder young people from pursuing higher education,” Adeola stated.

The initiative, which covered students across the five local government areas of Ogun West—Ado-Odo/Ota, Yewa South, Yewa North, Ipokia, and Imeko-Afon—was also extended to indigent constituents residing in other senatorial districts of Ogun State.

According to Mr. Scholar Ola Agbetokun, the project coordinator, the registration process faced some difficulties due to internet downtimes and the JAMB portal closing on February 24th, which prevented the full realization of the 5,000-student target.

“Despite these obstacles, we are proud of the numbers we achieved. This project has given thousands of students a chance to further their education,” Agbetokun noted.

Senator Adeola further highlighted that the free JAMB initiative is just one aspect of his broader educational support program. He announced plans for a complementary scholarship and bursary scheme targeting another 5,000 students in tertiary institutions, to be implemented in the coming weeks.

“Education remains the best legacy we can offer our people. As part of my commitment to human capital development, we will continue supporting indigent students through scholarships and other educational interventions,” he assured.

The senator reiterated his dedication to empowering young people in Ogun West, stressing that education should never be a privilege but a right accessible to all, regardless of financial background.
