The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested two teenagers for allegedly participating in five separate burglary operations targeting two shops in the Inawole area of the state.
The suspects, identified as 16-year-old Abioro Taofeeq, a trainee welder from Ago-Igbe, and 15-year-old Monday Ogundele, also a trainee welder from Idobarun, were arrested on September 4, 2026, following an investigation into a reported case of shop burglary.
The case was reported on June 20 by Mrs Julius Deborah, a 37-year-old trader and resident of Inawole, after her shop was allegedly broken into and valuables stolen.
According to a statement issued by the So-Safe Corps State Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo, and made available by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the Ado-Odo Igbesa Area Commander, ACC Kehinde Oluti, directed the Officer-in-Charge of the Anti-Robbery Unit, SC Ajayi Rotimi, to commence a detailed investigation.
The investigation involved officers from the Anti-Robbery and Intelligence Units of the command and eventually led to the arrest of the two teenagers.
The corps said preliminary interrogation revealed that the suspects admitted involvement in burglary and stealing.
They reportedly told investigators that they were not operating alone, alleging that a third suspect, identified only as T-Boy, was also involved in the operations and is currently at large.
The suspects further confessed that two shops had been burgled on five different occasions, with items allegedly stolen including mobile phones, cash, Bluetooth devices, clothes, power banks and other valuables.
The So-Safe Corps said the suspects and recovered items had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Ado-Odo Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The State Commander assured residents of the corps’ continued commitment to protecting lives and property, preventing crime and collaborating with other security agencies and communities to maintain safety across the state.
