Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has announced that the state secretariat of the All Progressives Congress will be commissioned in November.
Abiodun disclosed this on Tuesday during an inspection of the ultra-modern facility located along Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, where he expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.
The governor said the project, which commenced less than a year ago, was nearing completion and would provide the party with a permanent administrative base in the state.
He expressed confidence that the construction work would be completed within a week, paving the way for the commissioning next month.
“We were here for the groundbreaking ceremony less than a year ago, and I must say that I am impressed with what I am seeing. I am happy with the location and the level of completion. I am sure that within another week or so, this should have been completely rounded off,” Abiodun said.
The facility comprises a conference and banquet hall with a seating capacity of more than 500 people, offices for party officials and members, as well as adequate parking space.
Abiodun described the project as a significant milestone for the APC in Ogun State, particularly as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He said the building’s imposing structure and strategic location would make it a landmark for the party.
The governor added that the appearance of the facility would project the party’s strength and presence in the state.
“Even just driving past our office itself, you begin to feel a sense of defeat if you are not in our party,” he said.
The new secretariat is expected to replace the rented premises previously occupied by the Ogun APC in Abeokuta.
The permanent facility will serve as the party’s administrative headquarters and provide space for meetings and other political activities as preparations for the 2027 general elections intensify.
