The family of a 29-year-old woman, Nkiru Osakweogo, has been thrown into distress following her sudden disappearance after leaving for a job interview in the Lekki area of Lagos State.

Osakweogo, who resides at 58 Kirikiri Road, Olodi Apapa, Lagos, left home on January 25, 2025, to attend a job interview. However, she has not returned since, and all efforts to reach her have been futile.

Speaking with The Guardian, her sister, Obianuju Osakweogo, expressed deep concern over Nkiru’s unusual silence, revealing that her phone has remained switched off, and she has been unreachable online.

“My sister is a very private person. She only informed our other sister about the job interview without disclosing the company’s name or exact location. Later, she sent a message saying she had secured the job and that the company provides accommodation for staff, so she would be staying there. She also mentioned that the network in the area was poor. That was the last time we heard from her,” Obianuju explained.

She further lamented that the police have been unable to take concrete action due to the lack of specific details about Nkiru’s whereabouts.

“We reported the matter to the police, but they told us they couldn’t do much because she did not provide an address. We are worried because she has never gone silent for this long,” she added.

The family is appealing to the public for any information that could help locate Nkiru. Anyone with useful details is urged to contact them at 07038406112 or 07062396321.

Efforts to reach the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, for comments were unsuccessful, as he neither responded to WhatsApp messages nor answered calls.
