A tricycle rider lost his life while two other persons sustained injuries in a road accident involving a tricycle and a Howo truck along the Sango-Ijoko Road in Ogun State on Friday night.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Babatunde Akinbiyi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday.
Akinbiyi said preliminary findings and an eyewitness account indicated that the crash occurred at Alasia Bus Stop, inbound Sango-Ijoko Road, due to poor visibility.
He said, “An eyewitness attributed the accident to blurry vision at Alasia Bus Stop, inbound Sango-Ijoko Road.”
The TRACE spokesman added that the tricycle rider died in the crash, while two male passengers sustained varying degrees of injuries.
According to him, “The corpse of the victim has been deposited at Ifo General Hospital while the survivors were taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.”
He further disclosed that officials towed the damaged tricycle and the truck off the road to ensure the free flow of traffic.
Akinbiyi urged motorists to exercise patience while driving and avoid dangerous manoeuvres that could lead to avoidable road crashes.
