The National Transition Committee of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria has extended the tenure of the Chairman of its Ogun State chapter, Chief Olalekan Soyinka, popularly known as Ayinla Egba, until the end of January 2027.
The decision was conveyed in a letter dated July 7, 2026, signed by the Secretary of the committee, Alhaji Gbenga Adebayo-Oladunni, who said the extension followed the leadership achievements recorded by the Ogun chapter under Soyinka.
According to the committee, the extension was approved after reviewing the performance of the state executive, which it described as remarkable within a short period of assuming office.
The committee noted that Soyinka and his team had successfully repositioned the association and enhanced its standing among professional electronic media organisations in Ogun State.
“I’ve been directed by the FIBAN National Transition Committee under the chairmanship of Mogaji Kola Olootu to inform you that, having heard of your fantastic performance in Ogun State within a short period of your appointment with your team, you have moved a mountain gloriously,” the letter read.
It added, “Therefore, you are worthy to continue the good job you are doing to make FIBAN stand among other reputable electronic media associations in Ogun State.”
The committee said the tenure extension would enable the Ogun leadership to consolidate its achievements and sustain ongoing efforts to strengthen the association ahead of the state chapter election scheduled for 2027.
It also commended Soyinka and members of his executive for what it described as their impressive accomplishments, expressing confidence that they would continue to promote the ideals and objectives of the association across Ogun State.
The committee congratulated the Ogun chairman and his executive members on the tenure extension and urged them to maintain the momentum until a new state executive is elected in 2027.
