Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, is expected to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for a 450-hectare industrial park being developed by Lee Group, a multinational conglomerate, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway near the Sagamu Interchange.
The ceremony, scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2026, is expected to mark a major step in the state government’s efforts to attract large-scale investments, expand manufacturing capacity and create employment opportunities.
The proposed industrial park, located around Makun Village, is designed to accommodate 29 factories, alongside commercial, hospitality and recreational facilities.
The factories are expected to produce a wide range of goods, including footwear and leather products, plastics, packaging materials, personal care products and household items.
The development will also feature conference halls and hospitality facilities to support business operations and provide complementary services within the industrial complex.
Its location along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, close to the Sagamu Interchange, is expected to offer investors convenient access to major consumer markets in Ogun and Lagos states, as well as distribution networks across the West African region.
Beyond manufacturing, the project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment and stimulate economic activities through opportunities for local suppliers, logistics operators, contractors and service providers.
Small and medium-scale enterprises are also expected to benefit from the industrial park through the supply of goods and services to the factories and other businesses operating within the complex.
The investment aligns with the Abiodun administration’s economic development agenda, which prioritises industrialisation, investment promotion, infrastructure development and job creation.
Ogun State’s proximity to Lagos, its road network and the presence of established industrial clusters have continued to strengthen its position as a destination for manufacturing and other productive investments.
The proposed industrial park is expected to further expand the state’s industrial value chain, encourage private-sector participation and create opportunities for businesses across different sectors of the economy.
When completed, the project is expected to strengthen Ogun State’s ambition to become a major manufacturing and distribution hub in Nigeria and the wider West African region.
