Elder Solomon Olatunji Adeniyi has been inaugurated as the 21st President of the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, OGUNCCIMA, with a pledge to reposition the chamber as a stronger advocate for businesses and economic development in Ogun State.

Adeniyi, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and former President of the Remo Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, RECCIMA, assumed office on Thursday during the chamber’s 42nd Annual General Meeting and inauguration of a new executive held at Hilltop Event Hotel, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The new president, who also served as a Federal Road Safety Special Marshal, will lead the chamber for a two year tenure spanning 2026 to 2028.

In his acceptance speech, Adeniyi expressed gratitude to members of the Board of Directors and stakeholders for entrusting him with the leadership of the chamber, promising to discharge his responsibilities with dedication.

“It is with profound gratitude to Almighty God and a deep sense of responsibility that I stand before this distinguished gathering today as the 21st President of the Ogun State Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture,” he said.

He added, “I accept this responsibility with a full appreciation of its significance and with a firm commitment to serve diligently, faithfully and wholeheartedly.”

Paying tribute to his predecessor and the outgoing executive, Adeniyi described leadership as a continuous process of service and continuity.

“Leadership is a relay race, not a sprint. Every generation receives a baton, nurtures it, and passes it on. Today, I receive that baton with profound respect for those who have carried it before me,” he said.

The new OGUNCCIMA president acknowledged the economic challenges confronting businesses, including rising operating costs, infrastructure deficits, policy inconsistencies, limited access to finance and global economic shifts, but maintained that Ogun remained strategically positioned for growth.

“Every challenge carries within it the seed of opportunity. Ogun State remains one of Nigeria’s most strategic economic destinations, and I believe in the collective strength of OGUNCCIMA and the five City Chambers,” he stated.

Adeniyi said his administration would focus on building a chamber that is stronger, more visible and more influential in shaping economic policies while creating greater value for its members.

“My vision is simple, to build a Chamber that is stronger, more visible, more influential and more valuable to its members than ever before,” he said.

According to him, his administration would promote stronger partnerships with government, encourage investment, support innovation and create more opportunities for businesses to thrive.

He also promised increased support for young entrepreneurs and women in business.

“We shall pay greater attention to our young entrepreneurs. If we must build a prosperous tomorrow, we must deliberately invest in the talents, ideas and aspirations of today’s youth,” he said.

Speaking on women entrepreneurship, he added, “To our women in business, let me assure you that your contributions to economic development are invaluable. This administration will continue to support initiatives that create opportunities for greater participation, growth and leadership.”

Adeniyi further called for stronger collaboration among the five City Chambers comprising ABEOCCIMA, YECCIMA, RECCIMA, JJECCIMA and OTAGCCIMA, saying they should function as one united family to advance the interests of businesses across Ogun State.

He stressed that his administration would be judged by its impact rather than promises.

“The success of this administration will not be measured by speeches delivered or meetings held. It will be measured by the value we create, the opportunities we unlock, the businesses we support, the partnerships we build and the impact we make on the lives of our members and the economy of our state,” he said.

The new president also urged members and stakeholders to embrace collaboration and unity, expressing confidence that OGUNCCIMA would achieve greater milestones during his administration.

The newly inaugurated executive council includes Otunba Wasiu Taiwo as First Deputy President, Pastor Ibrahim Bada as Second Deputy President, Mr Olusegun Bajegbo as First Vice President, Surveyor Olatunde Samuel Ayodele as Second Vice President, Omo’ba Abiola Ogundeko as Third Vice President and Mrs. Modupe Fadare as Treasurer.

Others include; Otunba A. Babs Adesanya as Deputy Treasurer, Chief Bola Onifade as Auditor, Mr. Rahmon Banjo as Financial Secretary, Prince Olasunkanni Akapo as NYE Coordinator, Mrs. Fausat Jaiyeola Akinbo as Women-in-Chamber Coordinator (Ogun State) and Mr. Akinola Lawson as BESTAC Chairman, who will serve alongside Adeniyi for the 2026 to 2028 tenure.
