Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the nation’s security agencies following the successful rescue of victims abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Abiodun described the rescue operation as a demonstration of the Federal Government’s determination to tackle kidnapping and other violent crimes, saying the outcome reflected President Tinubu’s commitment to ensuring the safe return of victims while bringing perpetrators to justice.

In a statement on Friday, the governor said the successful rescue of the victims without harm fulfilled the President’s assurance that every effort would be deployed to secure their freedom.

He added that the arrest of some of the suspected kidnappers and the killing of others during the operation sent a strong signal that criminal elements would no longer find the country conducive for their activities.

“This operation has demonstrated that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, there will be no safe haven for criminal elements. It is a clear signal that those who choose the path of kidnapping, banditry and other violent crimes will be relentlessly pursued, apprehended or neutralised in accordance with the law,” Abiodun said.

The governor praised the Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, local intelligence operatives and other security personnel involved in the operation, describing their efforts as gallant, professional and courageous.

According to him, the coordinated operation underscored the commitment of the nation’s security agencies to protecting innocent citizens and restoring public confidence in the country’s security architecture.

Abiodun also commended Governor Makinde for maintaining close collaboration with the Federal Government and security agencies throughout the period of the victims’ captivity.

He said the seamless cooperation among all stakeholders contributed significantly to the successful rescue of the victims.

“The rescue operation further reinforces the effectiveness of the renewed security architecture being implemented by the Federal Government in partnership with state governments and security agencies across the federation,” he stated.

The Ogun governor urged Nigerians to continue supporting security agencies by providing credible and timely intelligence capable of preventing criminal activities.

He reaffirmed Ogun State’s commitment to sustaining collaboration with the Federal Government, neighbouring states and security agencies to ensure that criminal elements have no refuge in the South West.

Abiodun congratulated President Tinubu, Governor Makinde, the leadership of the security agencies and officers who participated in the operation, expressing confidence that the successful mission would strengthen ongoing efforts to make Nigeria safer for law abiding citizens while making the country increasingly hostile to kidnappers, bandits and other criminal elements.
