The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has trained its senior officers on integrity, professionalism and effective security operations.
The three-day retreat, which commenced on Monday, August 17, 2026, was held at the Corps Training Academy in Ilaro, Ogun State.
The programme was themed, “Upholding Integrity and Professionalism in Security and Safety.”
The State Commander of the Corps, Commander Soji Ganzallo, disclosed this in a statement issued by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi.
According to Ganzallo, the retreat was designed to strengthen the capacity of senior officers and equip them with the knowledge required to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
He said the resource persons, mainly drawn from the agency, delivered lectures on the scope of duties and professional techniques for senior officers, the officers and men of the Corps, security agencies and official stakeholders, health, operations, coordination and administration.
Other areas covered included techniques for effective operations and an overview of intelligence gathering for senior officers.
The State Commander stressed the need for officers to maintain high standards of integrity, noting that the conduct of personnel directly affects the image of the Corps in their respective communities.
He said, “The retreat is of utmost importance for the agency as officers are meant to be reminded of its core values.”
Ganzallo added that the knowledge acquired by the senior officers should be transferred to other personnel at their various commands.
“This exercise was specifically for senior officers and it is expected that when they get to their respective commands, they will transfer the knowledge down the chain of command,” he said.
He maintained that securing lives and property required continuous learning through regular training and retraining.
The commander assured that the Corps would continue to equip its officers and men mentally and professionally to respond effectively to the security challenges confronting the state.
The retreat ended on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, with participants also engaging in daily drills, early morning exercises and parade activities.
