The Ogun State House of Assembly, through its Committee on Finance and Appropriation, will on Monday commence the review of the implementation of the 2026 Appropriation Law by Ministries, Departments and Agencies of Government in the state.
The exercise, which will cover the second quarter of the fiscal year, January to June 2026, is scheduled to run from Monday, August 31, to Tuesday, September 8, 2026. The proceedings will commence at 10:00 a.m. daily.
According to a release issued by the Clerk and Head of Legislative Service, Mr Sakiru Adebakin, the exercise is part of the constitutional responsibilities of the legislature to assess the level of compliance by government MDAs with the state’s 2026 Appropriation Law.
The appraisal is also aimed at ensuring accountability and value for government resources deployed in the implementation of policies and projects across the state.
The statement said the exercise would provide the Assembly with an opportunity to assess the extent to which approved budgetary provisions had been implemented by the various MDAs during the first six months of the year.
The Clerk therefore urged all heads of MDAs to submit relevant documents and appear before the committee in accordance with the schedule earlier communicated to them.
