The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has recovered a stolen Toyota Camry in the Atan-Ota area of the state, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend those involved in the theft.

The vehicle, a custom-coloured Toyota Camry with registration number FKJ-734FT, was recovered on Sunday, September 6, 2026, after security operatives received information about its theft.

According to a statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, and made available by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the information was received at about 8:30am through the Director of Liaison, Assistant Commander of Corps Lukman Adebesin.

Ganzallo said that following the directive for thorough patrol and intelligence gathering, the Director of Liaison contacted the Area Commander of the Atan-Ota Area Command, Assistant Commander of Corps Job Adeniji, to commence efforts to locate the vehicle.

The vehicle, belonging to Mr. Omoola Mathew, was reportedly stolen from Agbado-Oke Aro, Ibaragun, after one of the owner’s children discovered at about 5am that it was missing from where it had been parked.

Following the report, operatives attached to the Adiyan-Muta Divisional Headquarters, under the supervision of the Divisional Officer, Superintendent of Corps Taofeek Olaleye, immediately commenced tracking efforts.

The Corps said tracking technology later indicated that the vehicle was around Atan-Ota, near Mobil Fueling Station, Asore.

At about noon, operatives of the Atan-Ota Area Command located the vehicle abandoned behind the Mobil Fueling Station in Asore, Atan-Ota.

The owner subsequently arrived at the location, identified the vehicle and confirmed it as his property. It was thereafter formally handed over to him.

Expressing appreciation for the prompt intervention, Mathew commended the So-Safe Corps for its swift response, coordination and successful recovery of his vehicle.

Ganzallo commended the Director of Liaison, Area Commander, Divisional Officer and other operatives involved in the operation for their professionalism, prompt response and intelligence-driven approach.

He, however, disclosed that efforts were ongoing to apprehend those connected with the theft.

The State Commander reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to intelligence-led security operations and the protection of lives and property, while stressing the need for continued collaboration with other security agencies in tackling crime across Ogun State.

He also advised vehicle owners to install tracking devices in their vehicles and urged members of the public to promptly provide credible information to security agencies whenever they notice suspicious activities.
