A suspected burglar, Quadri Anifowoshe, has been arrested by the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, for allegedly breaking into a building and stealing aluminium window frames at Adekoyeni, Atan-Ota, Ogun State.
The suspect was arrested on Saturday, October 3, 2026, after he was reportedly sighted around the Ajambata area carrying a sack containing pieces of aluminium.
According to a statement issued by the State Commander of the Corps, Cmdr. (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, and signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, an officer of the Corps stopped the suspect to inquire about the contents of the sack.
The statement said the suspect allegedly refused to respond and instead fled from the scene, prompting the officer to pursue and apprehend him.
He was subsequently taken to the Atan Area Command for interrogation.
During questioning, Anifowoshe allegedly confessed to gaining access to the building at Adekoyeni by jumping over the fence.
He reportedly told investigators that he removed aluminium window frames from the building, broke them into pieces and planned to sell them.
The agent in charge of the building, Wasiu Toriola, later appeared at the Atan Area Command on behalf of the owner and requested that the matter be transferred to the police for further investigation.
Toriola reportedly said the owner of the building was in Lagos State and would return later.
Following the request, the suspect and the recovered exhibits were handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Atan Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and appropriate action.
The So-Safe Corps reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.
The Corps also urged residents to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious movements and activities within their communities.
