The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, has thrown his royal weight behind the Abeokuta Polo Club, assuring the team of close collaboration and unwavering support from the Egba traditional council.
Speaking when he hosted the Ground Breaking Committee of the club at the Ake Palace, Oba Gbadebo commended the initiative, describing it as a perfect fit for his vision of a progressive Egbaland.
Leading the delegation was the President of the Abeokuta Polo Club, Dr. Sheriff Adams Abdulrahman, alongside the Committee Chairman and Orunto of Owu Kingdom, Chief Abiodun Lasile.
Welcoming the team warmly, the monarch expressed delight over the project, emphasizing that the polo club would not only add a new sporting dimension to the ancient city but also serve as a catalyst for its socio-economic development.
