As preparations intensify for its forthcoming grand event, the leadership of the Abeokuta Polo Club has embarked on a series of strategic visits to key institutions and stakeholders across Ogun State to deepen partnerships and secure endorsements.

On a courtesy visit to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Abeokuta, the president of the Abeokuta Polo Club, Dr. Sheriff Adams Bada, alongside the Secretary of the Ground Breaking Committee (GBC), Imam Thanni B. Ahmed, delivered a letter of invitation and official introduction to the Chief Medical Director.

Though the CMD was unavailable at the time, the letter was warmly received by his personal assistant.

In a separate high-level engagement, the club’s delegation was hosted by the Ogun State Surveyor General, who received the team in the company of top officials.

The visiting team included the Orunto Balufe of Owu Kingdom and Chairman of the Ground Breaking Committee, Chief Abiodun Oladimeji Lasile; President of the Club, Dr. Sheriff Adams Bada; Secretary GBC, Imam Thanni B. Ahmed; and other executive members.

During the meeting, Dr. Bada presented the Surveyor General with a specially branded Abeokuta Polo Club shirt, a gesture that was met with visible excitement.

“I am truly honoured. I assure you, I will be at the event with my full convoy. My support for the Abeokuta Polo Club is unwavering—come rain, come shine,” the Surveyor General said in an emphatic show of commitment.

The team also paid a visit to the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, who warmly received them in his office.

The Speaker echoed sentiments earlier shared by Chief Lasile, noting that the club’s mission transcends social status and cuts across all sectors.

“Abeokuta Polo Club is not just for a select few—it is a vision for all, for community and growth,” Elemide remarked.

Efforts were also made to engage with the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in the state.

Though details of that meeting were still being finalized at press time, sources confirmed that contact had been established with the NLC Chairman and further engagement is expected.
