The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) has commenced the disbursement of April 2025 upkeep payments to eligible students across the country.
The agency confirmed that while the majority of the payments have already been processed successfully, a small number of beneficiaries may face slight delays due to a recent upgrade in its payment and application processing systems.
In a press statement released by the Director of Strategic Communications at NELFUND, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, the system upgrade was undertaken to enhance the platform’s security and ensure smoother and more timely processing of student allowances in the future.
“The recent system upgrade was a necessary step to reinforce data security and improve operational efficiency,” she stated. “Although a few students might experience a delay in receiving their upkeep funds, NELFUND is working closely with stakeholders to resolve these technical issues quickly.”
She assured that no student would be left out in the disbursement process. “We remain committed to transparency, operational excellence, and the timely delivery of student support in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda,” Oluwatuyi affirmed.
She further expressed gratitude to the student community and stakeholders for their understanding. “We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all stakeholders as we continue to improve service delivery for the benefit of Nigerian students.”
