The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State chapter, has lauded the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for establishing a state-of-the-art Media Centre to facilitate smooth coverage of the ongoing National Sports Festival in Abeokuta.
Speaking on behalf of the association, SWAN Chairman in the state, Mr. Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji, expressed appreciation for the centre’s strategic location and the top-tier facilities provided, which he said have enabled journalists to carry out their duties efficiently in a conducive working environment.
“Every journalist in this arena is very happy with the way this Media Centre is being set up with necessary gadgets for seamless coverage; the location is the first motivation for us. It is strategic,” Ogunsiji said.
He praised the Governor not only for the centre but also for what he described as a world-class Opening Ceremony of the festival held on Sunday, noting that it reflected Governor Abiodun’s unrelenting commitment to excellence and Ogun State’s reputation for pioneering achievements.
“Also, we are very delighted with the provision of uninterrupted power supply, sufficient television screens, as well as internet service to televise the event throughout without hindrance,” he added.
According to Ogunsiji, the glamour and coordination of the opening ceremony were clear indicators of a successful tournament ahead, and a further testament to the governor’s visionary leadership.
“The glamour and impressive outing of the Opening Ceremony had indeed signaled the successful outcome of the festival and another significant accomplishment for the Governor Abiodun-led administration,” he concluded.
