President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Oba Clement Adesuyi Haastrup (Ajimoko III), a distinguished businessman and former deputy governor of Osun State, on his formal coronation as the Owa Obokun Adimula and Paramount Ruler of Ijeshaland.
The coronation ceremony, held in Ilesa, Osun State, officially marked Oba Haastrup’s ascension to the revered traditional throne of his forebears.
In a statement issued on Friday by presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu extolled the monarch’s rich legacy of leadership, applauding his seamless transition from politics to business and now, to the traditional institution.
“Oba Haastrup’s journey reflects his exemplary character, resilience, and a deep-rooted commitment to the values of our heritage,” the President noted. “His remarkable trajectory is a clear indication of his preparedness to lead with wisdom and foresight.”
President Tinubu expressed confidence in Oba Haastrup’s ability to uphold the legacy of the Owa Obokun stool, noting that his experience in public service and entrepreneurship will bring renewed vigor to Ijeshaland’s development.
“Your pedigree has rekindled my confidence that you will record even greater success now that you sit on the ancestral throne,” Tinubu stated.
He further urged the newly crowned monarch to be a beacon of unity and cultural pride. “I encourage you to continue promoting peace, harmony, and traditional values not just in Ijeshaland, but across Osun State and the nation at large.”
The President concluded with prayers for divine wisdom and guidance for Oba Haastrup in his reign, saying, “May the wisdom of your ancestors and the grace of the Almighty guide your leadership, and may the light of your forebears continue to shine through you.”
