The Ogun State House of Assembly has announced plans to commence its mid-year budget performance appraisal on Monday, 21st July, 2025, as part of its constitutional oversight responsibilities.
The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Oludaisi Elemide, disclosed this during plenary at the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, noting that the exercise aligns with sections 128 and 129 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).
Elemide explained that the mid-year appraisal would provide an opportunity to assess the level of budget implementation across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
He directed all MDAs to submit relevant documents to the Office of the Clerk of the House by Friday, 11th July, 2025, to aid a smooth and effective appraisal process.
“The performance assessment is part of our constitutional duty to ensure accountability and transparency in governance. All MDAs are expected to fully cooperate with the Assembly by submitting necessary documents before the deadline,” the Speaker said.
The Assembly is expected to review the level of compliance with the 2025 Appropriation Law and evaluate progress on capital and recurrent expenditure, including the impact of government programmes and projects across the state.
