Governor Charles Soludo of Anambra State has reaffirmed his support for Tinubu’s administration, citing bold economic policies and structural reforms as reasons for his endorsement.

Speaking with journalists after meeting Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Tuesday, Soludo said the encounter was a pleasant one, describing the President as “in high spirits, hale and hearty.”

“President Tinubu is my friend; he has been my friend for 22 years now and counting, so you don’t deny your friend.”

“I support him, and I’m impressed by the bold steps he has taken, particularly in the areas of the economy and structural reforms. We’re taking the right steps and we need to stay the course,” Soludo said.

He also called on political parties identifying as progressive to form a broad coalition aimed at advancing democracy, economic stability and social development across the country.

On insecurity in Anambra, Soludo disclosed that his administration is implementing a holistic strategy, combining both kinetic and non-kinetic approaches.

He noted that the recently passed Homeland Security Law has helped to curb criminal activities, with “deadly native doctors” who lure youths into crime now on the run.

According to him, the state is focusing on youth empowerment and job creation as part of its security framework. “We have a unique one-year programme where we trained and empowered about 5,000 youths, and another 8,700 will be receiving some billions this month or next month. We are creating several thousands of youth millionaires within the first three years,” he stated.

Soludo added that beyond infrastructural upgrades in schools, health facilities and other sectors, his government is intentional about economic and social empowerment to reduce hardship and sustain peace. “Those who run foul of the law will be decisively dealt with,” he said.
