NECO releases 2025 SSCE results, 60.26% secure five credits including English, Maths

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results of the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), with 60.26 per cent of candidates recording five credits and above in English and Mathematics.

The Registrar of the Council, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, made the announcement on Wednesday at the NECO headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

According to him, a total of 818,492 candidates representing 60.26 per cent secured five credits, including the core subjects of English Language and Mathematics.

He further disclosed that 1,144,496 candidates, representing 84.26 per cent, obtained five credits and above irrespective of English and Mathematics.

Wushishi explained that 1,367,210 candidates registered for the examination, consisting of 685,514 males and 681,696 females. Out of these, 1,358,339 candidates sat for the exams, with 680,292 males and 678,047 females.

He added that the council was committed to ensuring transparency and credibility in the conduct and release of its examinations.

Details of the performance breakdown, including state and school-by-school analysis, are expected to be released by the council in due course.
