The Chief Executive Officer and President of Campus Ovation International, Mr. Enike Victor, has condemned what he described as a deliberate attempt to defame the Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa.
In a statement issued on Friday, Mr. Victor said it was unfair for some individuals to tarnish the image of a woman who has consistently demonstrated integrity, compassion, and exceptional leadership in service to Nigerians.
According to him, “Hon. Abike Dabiri is a woman of integrity, honor, and outstanding leadership. Her style of leadership is one every political officeholder in this country should emulate. She has added value to the lives of countless Nigerians, including young people like myself.”
He described the calls for her resignation and campaigns of falsehood against her as “unacceptable and a disservice to Nigeria,” stressing that she has worked tirelessly to defend the dignity of Nigerians abroad.
“Hon. Abike Dabiri has stood firm in ensuring that the cries of innocent citizens who have been victimized abroad are heard and addressed. She continues to serve with unwavering dedication, and no smear campaign will erase her achievements,” he added.
Victor also cautioned against divisive rhetoric, noting that some individuals were attempting to stir tribal sentiments for selfish reasons. He said, “Sadly, certain individuals, under the influence of division and tribal sentiments, are trying to cause confusion and hatred in this country. The Igbo people are known for being loving, caring, and accommodating. Those few voices abroad do not represent our people.”
He called on Nigerians from all walks of life to rise in defense of Dabiri and reject any attempt to malign her. He further urged security agencies to take action against those peddling falsehoods, insisting that “enough is enough.”
“Hon. Abike Dabiri has proven her worth and capacity as a true mother of the nation. Let us shun negativity, embrace peace, and work together for the progress of Nigeria,” Victor concluded.
