The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has appointed Assistant Corps Commander, Adegunwa Adegbuyi, as its new Director of Information and Public Relations, while also elevating DCC Moruf Kolawole Yusuf to the position of Deputy State Commander.

The decoration ceremony, which took place on Monday at the State Headquarters, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, was conducted under the authority of the State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat, represented by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, alongside the State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo.

Adegbuyi, who now heads the Information and Public Relations Directorate, was decorated alongside ACC Nurudeen Muibi, who assumes the role of Deputy Director, Intelligence and Investigation.

In his remarks, the State Commander, Dr. Ganzallo, described the promotions as well-deserved, stressing that they were based on dedication, sacrifice and outstanding contributions to the Corps.

“Your previous achievements and commitment in the Corps speak for you.”

“This elevation is not achieved by chance but by hard work. To whom much is given, much is expected,” he said.

Ganzallo particularly praised the elevation of DCC Kolawole Yusuf, who now serves as Deputy State Commander, noting that his loyalty and professionalism had paved the way for the recognition.

Speaking on behalf of the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Akinlesi urged the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them.

“You are now entrusted with greater authority and in equal measure, greater accountability will be required from you.”

“You are expected to bring to bear your wealth of experience, leadership acumen and professionalism in discharging your duties for the progress of the Corps and the security of our dear state,” he stated.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, AIG Olusola Subair (Rtd.), represented by Mr. Biyi Odubote, commended the So-Safe Corps for its impact in strengthening security across Ogun State.

He reminded the officers that, “promotion is a pyramid, as you go higher the space becomes narrow.

“Even when every officer is performing, not all will be promoted because of the constraint of space.”

“This is why you must see this elevation as both a privilege and a challenge to do more,” he added.

On behalf of the promoted officers, Deputy State Commander Yusuf appreciated the State Commander and the leadership of the Corps for the trust bestowed on them.

He pledged that they would not relent in upholding the values and standards of the Corps.

The event was attended by dignitaries from sister security agencies and civil organisations, who witnessed the decoration and official presentation of appointment letters to the officers.
