The Ogun State Government has announced the payment of end of year salary bonuses to its workforce, describing the gesture as a recognition of workers’ dedication and contributions to the development of the state.
The announcement was made on Sunday in a statement issued by the Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, who said the bonus was approved to appreciate public servants for their commitment and hard work throughout the year.
Onasanya described workers as dependable partners in the implementation of the Abiodun administration’s development agenda, noting that their support had remained vital to governance and service delivery across the state.
He explained that the bonus payment cuts across all categories of state government employees, reflecting an inclusive approach to staff welfare and motivation.
“The bonus is meant to reward workers for their dedication and commitment during the year. It also recognises the important role public servants play in driving the Building Our Future Together agenda of this administration,” Onasanya said.
He added that the initiative had become a yearly practice under Governor Dapo Abiodun, stressing that the government remained committed to the well being of its workforce.
Many workers described the bonus as timely, especially at a period when household expenses are usually high due to the festive season.
They noted that the payment would help them settle outstanding obligations and prepare adequately for Christmas and the New Year.
The workers also expressed appreciation for the early payment of the December 2025 salary, saying it had eased financial pressure and boosted morale across ministries, departments, and agencies in the state.
They commended the government for prioritising workers’ welfare and urged the administration to sustain policies that promote productivity and improve living conditions for public servants.
