Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has dismissed claims of a strained relationship with his Ogun State counterpart, Prince Dapo Abiodun, describing them as false and misleading.
The clarification was made in a statement issued yesterday by Sanwo-Olu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.
The statement responded to reports circulating on various online platforms suggesting friction between the two governors.
“We wish to state clearly that this is not true. In fact, it is the direct opposite of the relationship that exists between the two leaders,” the statement read.
Sanwo-Olu emphasised that both governors enjoy a very cordial and brotherly relationship. He noted that they meet regularly and maintain frequent communication on matters of mutual interest.
The statement highlighted that the close ties are reinforced by the shared boundaries between Lagos and Ogun states and their long-standing socio-cultural connections.
The Lagos governor also cautioned those spreading false reports, stressing that both he and Abiodun are united in their vision to improve the welfare and development of their states.
“Both Prince Dapo Abiodun and Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu remain committed to making life more abundant for the people they serve,” the statement concluded.
